General Questions — How GearSMS Works

How does GearSMS work?

Getting started with GearSMS is quick and straightforward:

  1. Add funds to your GearSMS wallet
  2. Select the platform or app you want to verify (e.g., Google, WhatsApp, PayPal)
  3. Grab a real USA non-VoIP number from your dashboard
  4. Use that number on the platform you're verifying
  5. Your verification code appears instantly in your dashboard
  6. Copy the code, complete your verification — done!

If no SMS is received, your funds are automatically returned to your balance. You can choose between short-term numbers (5–15 minutes) or long-term rentals based on your needs.

Are your numbers VoIP?
Not at all. Every number on GearSMS is a genuine carrier-based non-VoIP number. These are real US numbers — not virtual or internet-generated — which is why they're accepted by virtually every major platform.
Which countries do you support?
We currently provide United States (USA) phone numbers and eSIM services, with more regions coming soon.
Do you store my personal data?
Never. GearSMS does not collect unnecessary personal information, monitor your usage, or sell your data to anyone. Your privacy is fully protected from the moment you sign up.

Temporary Non-VoIP Numbers (SMS Verification)

What are Temporary Numbers?
Temporary numbers are short-term US phone numbers used to receive one-time SMS verification codes for any supported platform or service — quickly and privately.
How do Temporary Numbers work?
  1. Select your target service and preferred state (optional)
  2. Check the price listed under the service
  3. Click Order Number
  4. Your number and countdown timer appear under SMS Details
  5. Wait for your SMS — it shows up automatically, no page refresh needed
Can I receive more than one OTP on the same number?
Yes. You can receive multiple verification codes on a single temporary number at no additional cost.
Can I cancel a Temporary Number?
Yes — but only before any SMS has been received. Once a message or code arrives, the order is considered used and becomes non-refundable.

⚠️ Please note: Excessive cancellations may lead to account suspension.
What happens if the SMS never arrives?
If no message is received, you can reject the number before any SMS arrives and your balance will be restored automatically. Simply try again with a new number.

Real USA Phone Number Rentals (Long-Term)

What are Long-Term Rentals?
Long-term rentals give you a dedicated US phone number for an extended period — 3, 30, or 60 days — with unlimited SMS reception throughout your rental window.
How do Long-Term Rentals work?
  1. Choose your desired service or platform
  2. Select your rental duration (3, 30, or 60 days)
  3. Place your order
  4. Your number appears under Rental History
  5. Receive unlimited SMS for the full duration of your rental
Is there any usage fee during the rental?
Receiving SMS is completely free during your rental period. However, a $0.30 activation fee applies if a rental is activated but goes unused during that activation window.
Can I get a refund on a Long-Term Rental?
Refunds are not available once an SMS or verification code has been delivered to your number.
Can I renew my rental number?
Renewals are not currently supported. We recommend selecting the duration that best fits your needs at the time of purchase — choose from 3, 30, or 60 days.

Real USA eSIM Service & Activation

What is the GearSMS eSIM?
The GearSMS eSIM is a real USA-based eSIM that supports calls and SMS worldwide — no physical SIM card required. Perfect for travelers, remote workers, and anyone who needs a US number on the go.
Does the eSIM include mobile data?
The eSIM currently supports calls and SMS only. Mobile data is not included in the current plan.
How does eSIM activation work?
  1. Select your preferred country, carrier, quantity, and duration
  2. Click Next Step and review your order details
  3. Place your order and receive a QR code within 24 hours
  4. Scan the QR code on your device to activate instantly
How long does it take to receive my eSIM QR code?
Your QR code is typically delivered within 24 hours of placing your order. If you haven't received it after 24 hours, contact our support team right away.
Are eSIM orders refundable?
All eSIM orders are non-refundable once placed. Please double-check your device compatibility before ordering.

Does my wallet balance expire?
No. Your GearSMS wallet balance never expires. Add funds whenever you need and use them at your own pace.
Do you offer any deposit bonuses?
Yes! Deposit $200 or more and receive an instant 5% bonus on your deposit — with no expiry date on the bonus credits.

Managing Your SMS Orders & Account

Where can I view my order history?
All your past orders are neatly organized inside your dashboard under Temporary Numbers, Long-Term Rentals, and eSIM Orders in the Order History section.
Can my account get suspended?
Yes. Accounts that show signs of abuse, excessive cancellations, or policy violations may be temporarily or permanently suspended. Please use GearSMS responsibly and in line with our Terms of Service.
Can I change my email address?
Email changes are not currently supported. If you need to use a different email, please register a new account.
How do I delete my account?
To request account deletion, contact our support team directly or submit a support ticket from your dashboard. We'll process your request as quickly as possible.
